Χιλιάδες Ισραηλινές και Παλαιστίνιες γυναίκες περπάτησαν σήμερα μέσω μιας βιβλικής περιοχής της ερήμου για να συναντηθούν στις όχθες του Ποταμού Ιορδάνη, σε μια πορεία για την ειρήνη.

Αρκετές από τις γυναίκες, ήταν ντυμένες στα λευκά, ενώ έστησαν τη «σκηνή της ειρήνης», τιμώντας τους πατριάρχες προγόνους των Εβραίων και των Μουσουλμάνων.

«Είμαστε γυναίκες από τα δεξιά και τα αριστερά, έχουμε εβραϊκή και αραβική καταγωγή από τις πόλεις και την περιφέρεια κι έχουμε αποφασίσει να σταματήσουμε τον επόμενο πόλεμο», δήλωσε η Μεριλίν Σμάντζια, που είναι ιδρυτικό μέλος της οργάνωσης «Women Wage Peace».
